Smart Start Scholarship

Thanks to a generous contribution from the Olsson Foundation and a matching grant from Parent Child Development Corporation, Smart Start will begin awarding two $500 scholarships per quarter for the next year. Spaghetti Dinner

As part of our 40th year celebration activities, we will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner to recognize and honor those families enrolled in our program.

On November 1st at 6:00 p.m. Head Start families residing in Charles City, New Kent, King William, King & Queen, and the Town of West Point are invited to join us at St. John's Episcopal Church at the corner of 9th and Main in West Point.

On November 15that 6:30 p.m. Head Start families residing in Gloucester, Mathews, and Middlesex counties are invited to join us at 1st Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Gloucester.

 

Fund Raising Events

During October and early November, Smart Start is selling Yankee Candle and Garden Flags to raise money to support children's activities at the program. 

During December, Parent Child Development program will open a Santa's Workshop!

PCDC is currently seeking faith partners!

We welcome our newest faith partners--Liberty Baptist Church and Corinth Baptist Church in New Kent County and Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Mathews County.  If your faith community would be interested in helping by adopting a Head Start classroom in your area, please contact Bill Palmer at (804) 843-2289.

Not all of our community partners are churches. We are excited to welcome the Gloucester House assisted living community as a supporter of our Head Start centers in Gloucester County. Thanks to Assistant Administrator Maryanne Lee for facilitating this new and welcome relationship!
