Celebrating 40 Years of Family!

Parent-Child Development Corporation (PCDC), founded in 1971, is a charitable, 501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit agency serving young children and their families.  The agency offers multi-service programming in the rural Virginia counties of Charles City, New Kent, King and Queen, Mathews, Middlesex, Gloucester, and King William, including the Town of West Point.

PCDC focuses primarily on educational, self-help, family support, and advocacy activities on behalf of disadvantaged families in its service area. Its objective is the empowerment of families to improve the quality of their lives and strengthen the communities in which they live.

PCDC programs include:

• Bridges Head Start, a comprehensive preschool service for economically disadvantaged and at-risk children.

 

• Smart Start, a fee-based childcare and preschool program that serves children from six weeks to five years old.

 

• All Stars, a fee-based program that serves children K - 5.

Spaghetti Dinner

As part of our 40th Celebration, a Spaghetti Dinner for Head Start families in Charles City, New Kent, King William, King & Queen, and the Town of West Point is scheduled for November 1st, 6:00 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church in West Point.

As part of our 40th Celebration, a Spaghetti Dinner for Head Start families in Gloucester, Mathews, and Middlesex is scheduled for November 15th, 6:30 p.m., at 1st Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Gloucester.
